National Battle of the Bands: A Showcase of Talent and Heritage
  • Mission: To spotlight Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their pivotal role in nurturing musicians and future leaders.
  • Impact: Attracted over 45,000 fans in 2023, supported by alumni, students, and attendees nationwide. Over eight years, we’ve contributed more than $1.3 million in scholarships to HBCUs.
  • Highlights:
    • Generated $20 million in economic impact for Houston and Harris County.
    • Over 45,000 attendees, with 16,000+ at ancillary events.
    • Provided 6,000 tickets to minority students in Houston-area high schools.
    • Featured 2,200+ band members, seven Greek organizations, and over 35 HBCUs.
    • The largest African American event in Texas, donating $370,000+ in scholarships in 2023 alone.
    • Achieved 2,100+ radio/TV spots and live mentions across nine markets.

  • Pepsi Zero Sugar TAILGATE TOUR: Since 2021, we’ve managed an engaging tailgate experience featuring national artists and live pre-game broadcasts, showcasing how branded partners can enhance a vibrant lifestyle.
  • Webber eSports Activation: Pioneering HBCU partnerships to boost brand presence in STEM departments, including the first SWAC eSports tournament in spring 2021, awarding $3,000 in STEM scholarships.

As the official marketing agency for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), we’re proud to support a network that spans twelve schools across six states. The SWAC, a beacon of academic and athletic excellence, boasts over 70,000 students and 1 million alumni and has led the NCAA Division I FCS in average football home attendance for 44 of the past 45 years.

  • National Battle of the Bands
        • The National Battle of the Bands mission is to enhance the exposure of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the roles they play in educating aspiring musicians and developing our future leaders. The National Battle of the Bands attracted more than 45,000 fans in 2023 with the support of alumni, students and attendees near and far. Over the   last eight years we have given back more than $1,300,000 in scholarships to the participating Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

        • Pepsi Zero Sugar TAILGATE TOUR
          • Since 2021, Webber Marketing has managed the Pepsi Zero Sugar tailgate program.  Fans, consumers and alumni participated in a tailgate experience with national artist, live pre-game broadcast with Jay and Tiffany from ESPN and additional activities that showed how branded partners can complement a fun and active lifestyle.

        • Webber Marketing has leveraged our HBCU partnerships to gain favorable brand growth with HBCU STEM departments tied into establishing eSports curriculum and gaming events on campus. Webber Marketing produced the first SWAC eSports gaming tournament during spring of 2021 and winners received $3,000 in STEM scholarship money.

      • Webber Marketing is the official marketing agency of record for the prestigious Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). With twelve schools across the southwest in six states (AL, AR, FL, LA, MS, TX), Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, the SWAC is a Division I-AA member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). 
      • SWAC has 70,000 plus College Students, more than 1 million Alumni and the SWAC has led NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in Average Football Home Attendance 44 out the past 45 years with more than 728,523 fans during the last football season.
